Die Arbeit des Herrn Cayley erschien in Proc. of Cambr. IV. 106-109 (s. F. d. M. XIII. (1881) p. 366, JFM 13.0366.01). Herr Greenhill zeigt, dass, wenn \(k=\sin 15^{\circ} \) gesetzt wird, die Gleichung \[ \frac{\text{sn} u \text{dn} u}{(1+ \text{cn} u)^2}=\frac{\text{sn} a \text{dn} a}{(1+ \text{cn} a)^2} \] giebt: \(\text{cn} u= \text{cn} a\), oder \( \text{cn} \omega a\), oder \( \text{cn} \omega^2 a\), wo \(\omega\) eine imaginäre dritte Einheitswurzel ist. Ererwähnt ferner, dass Herr Mac Mahon gezeigt habe, dass das Integral der Gleichung \[ \frac{dx}{(A+3Bx+3Cx^2+Dx^3)^{\frac{2}{3}}}+\frac{dy}{(A+3By+3Cy^2+ Dy^3)^{\frac{2}{3}}}=0 \] sei: \[ (A+B(x+y+z)+C(yz+zx+xy)+Dxyz)^3 \] \[ =(A+3Bx+3Cx^2+Dx^3)(A+3By+3Cy^2+Dy^3)(A+3Bz+3Cz2+Dz^3), \] wo \(z\) eine willkürliche Constante ist, und giebt eine Folgerung aus diesem Satze.
