In einer früheren Note (C. R. XCIII. 1126; s. F. d. M. XIII. (1881) 379, JFM 13.0379.01) hatte Herr Picard gezeigt, wie sich das hyperelliptische Integral, das dem Polynom fünften Grades \[ y^2=x(1-x)(1-k^2 x)(1-l^2 x)(1-m^2 x) \] entspricht, auf elliptische Integrale zurückführen lässt. Im Vorliegenden wird die algebraische Substitution, welche die Transformation des genannten Integrals bewirkt, eingehender erörtert.
