In einer früheren Abhandlung: On the singularities of the modular equations and curves. (Proc. L. M. S. IX. 243 s. F. d. M. X. 1878. 468, JFM 10.0468.01) hat der Herr Verfasser die Modulargleichung für die Transformation dritter Ordnung zwischen \[ x=f(k^2)=\frac {(1-k^2+k^4)^3}{k^4(1-k^2)^2} \] und \[ y=f(\lambda ^2)=\frac {(1-\lambda^2+\lambda^4)^3}{\lambda^4(1-\lambda^2)^2} \] gegeben in der Form: \[ \begin{multlined} F(x,y)=x(x+2^7.3.5^3)^3+y(y+2^7.3.5^3)^3-2^{16}k^3y^3 \\ + 2^{11}.3^2.31x^2y^2(x+y)-2^2.3^3.9907xy(x^2+y^2) \\ +2.3^4.13.193.6367x^2y^2+2^8.3^55^3.4471xy(x+y) \\ -2^{15}.5^6.22973xy=0. \end{multlined} \] In der vorliegenden Note wird die Methode entwickelt, nach welcher die Coefficienten dieser Gleichung gewonnen wurden.
