Es wird folgender Gedanke durchgeführt: Das Theorem von Hermite über die Zerlegung der doppelt-periodischen meromorphen Functionen in halb-rationelle Brüche giebt \[ \frac {\text{sn} z}{\text{sn}^2 z-\text{sn}^2a} =\frac 1{2D\text{sn} a} \left[ \frac 1{\text{sn} (z+a)} +\frac 1{\text{sn} (z-a)} \right] , \] eine Relation, welcher leicht das Additionstheorem hergeleitet werden kann.
