Transformation eines Ausdruckes, welcher elliptische Transcendenten enthält, nebst Anwendung auf die Entwickelung der sog. Störungsfunctionen. Der Verfasser zerlegt den Ausdruck \[ D^{-\frac n2}=\{ 1+2l_1\text{Cos}(2\text{\,am\,}\frac{2k}{\pi}x+\lambda)+l^2\}^{-\frac n2} \] zunächst in zwei imaginäre Factoren, wodurch man erhält \[ D^{-\frac n2}=\{ 1+(u+\root\of{-1}v)e^{2\root\of{-1}\text{am}\frac{2k}{\pi}x}\}^{-\frac n2} \{1+(u-\root\of{-1}v)c^{-2\root\of{-1}\text{am}\frac{2k}{\pi}x}\}^{-\frac n2} \] wo \[ u_1=l_1\text{Cos}\lambda;\;v=l_1\text{Sin}\lambda. \] In diesem Ausdruck wird nun \[ e^{2\root\of{-1}\text{am}\frac{2k}{\pi}x}=e^{2\root\of{-1}x}\left[\frac{\eta(-x)}{\eta(x)}\right]^2 \] eingeführt, wo \[ \eta(x)=(1-qe^{2\root\of{-1}x})(1-q^3e^{-2\root\of{-1}x})(1+q^5e^{-2\root\of{-1}x})\ldots \] Indem nun von der Gleichung \[ [\eta(x)]^2=A^{(2)}\cdot\left\{\eta\left(q^2,2x+\frac \pi 2\right)-\root\of{k_2}e^{2\root\of{-1}x}\eta\left(q^2,-2x-\frac \pi 2\right)\right\}, \] wo \[ A_0^{(2)}=\frac{1}{[(1-q^4)(1-q^8)(1-q^{12})\ldots]^2}(1+2q^4+2q^{16}+\cdots), \] Gebrauch gemacht wird, gelangt der Verfasser zu einer für die Entwickelung nach den Vielfachen von \(x\) anwendbaren Formel.
