Die Arbeit ist eine Darstellung des fundamentalen Satzes, den Herr Clausius im Jahre 1873 publicirt hat, über welchen auch im Jahrb. V. p. 466, JFM 05.0466.01, 580, JFM 05.0580.02, VI. p. 584, JFM 06.0584.01 berichtet worden ist. In diesem Auszug wird festgestellt, dass der Satz in der That derselbe ist, wie ein anderer, der von Thomson und Tait 1867 publicirt ist. Referent bemerkt dazu, dass Herr Clausius in einem Briefe an ihn dies bestritten hat. Der betreffende Satz findet sich in Thomson und Tait's Natural Philosophy bezeichnet mit 9) p. 233.
