    The author considers Dirac operators (D) \(1\equiv J{d\over dx}+ Q(x)\), \(x\in\mathbb{R}\), where \(J\) and \(Q(x)\) are \(2\times 2\)-matrices; \(J=\text{const.}\) with \(J^2= -1\) and \(JQ(x)+ Q(x)J= 0\), \(Q(x+ \pi)= Q(x)\). Let \(U(x,\lambda)\) be the solution to the Cauchy problem \((L- \lambda)U(x,\lambda)= 0\), \(U(0,\lambda)= I\), and let \(U(\lambda)= U(\pi,\lambda)\) be the monodromy matrix of \(L\in D\). The aim of the paper is to prove a density theorem for the subclass \(D_-\in D\) formed by all operators with skew-symmetric potential matrix \(Q(x)= -Q^*(x)\). More precisely, given an operator \(L_0\in D_-\) with potential matrix \(Q_0\in L^2_{22}(0,\pi)\) and an arbitrary number \(\varepsilon> 0\), there exists a matrix \(Q_\varepsilon\in L^2_{22}(0, \pi)\) generating an operator \(L_\varepsilon\in D_-\) with finite-band spectrum such that \(\|Q_0- Q_\varepsilon\|_{L^2_{22}}\leq \varepsilon\).
