The paper investigates the dispersion relation for two-dimensional isotropic elastic medium when passing from (real) continuous case to the discrete case. As is known, for nondispersive medium (such as two-dimensional isotropic continuous one), the phase and group velocity are constant and equal. When the group velocity is no longer constant (when the frequency varies), one says that we deal with a dispersive motion. The author presents some numerical experiments on a discretized two-dimensional dispersive anisotropic medium. As expected, for small wavenumbers (low frequency) the behaviour of dispersive discretized media is close to that of continuous isotropic two-dimensional media.
