Given a \(C^*\)-dynamical system \((A,G,\alpha)\), the author considers certain subalgebras of the multiplier algebra \(M(A)\), consisting of fixed points for the action \(\alpha\) on \(A\). He discusses conditions under which these algebras are Morita-Rieffel equivalent to ideals in the crossed product of \(A\) by the LCA group \(G\). (The author uses the term ``Morita-Rieffel equivalence'' for ``strong Morita equivalence'' in order to recognize Rieffel's contribution on the theory.) When \(G\) is Abelian, the author develops a spectral theory, providing a necessary and sufficient condition for \(\alpha\) to be equivalent to the dual action on the cross-sectional \(C^*\)-algebra of a Fell bundle.
