Parametrizations of symmetric orthogonal multifilter banks with different filter lengths (Q1567546)

The paper considers symmetric orthogonal multiwavelets of multiplicity 2. For applications to multifilter banks one needs to have balanced multiwavelets in order to transfer the full approximation order of the wavelet basis to the filter bank. However, for balanced multiwavelets the filter length of the components in the matrix filter must be different. The paper shows, how symmetric orthogonal multifilter banks with different filter length can be constructed.
