From the Cheeger-Gromov convergence theorem, the convergence and collapsing of Riemannian manifolds have been discussed by many people and applied to solve geometric problems. For example, in complex geometry Tian's proof of the Calabi conjecture for complex surfaces with \(c_1 > 0\). In this paper, the author studies the corresponding concepts of convergence and collapsing for Kähler manifolds. Two kinds of convergence are used: the classical convergence of \((1,1)\)-forms on a complex manifold, and the convergence of Riemannian manifolds. It is proved that when a sequence of Kähler manifolds with the fixed background complex compact manifold is not collapsing, it will converge to a complete Kähler manifold which is biholomorphic to a Zariski open set of the original background complex manifold with some possible ''bubbling'' on the complement of that Zariski open set. The structure of collapsing is also discussed. The author shows that the resulting Monge-Ampère foliation is holomorphic, obtains some natural global holomorphic vector fields with respect to the foliation, and gives some applications.
