The authors show that \(C^\infty\) integrability does not imply the vanishing of the topological entropy of the geodesic flow. They extend Butler's construction of additional \(C^\infty\) first integrals to construct a \(C^\infty\) integrable geodesic flow on every \(T^n\)-fiber bundle over \(S^1\) whose monodromy has real eigenvalues. In the case when the monodromy, or gluing automorphism \(C: T^n\to T^n\) is hyperbolic, they obtain Hamiltonian systems on the cotangent bundle to \(M_C\): they are integrable but have positive topological entropy. Note that however, it is still unknown whether analytic integrability implies vanishing of the topological entropy.
