Let \(L\) be a quasitriangular Lie bialgebra with Lie cobracket \(dr\), \(r\in L\otimes L\). Let \(2r_+ = r + t(r)\), \(t\) the twist. An \(L\)-module \(B\) is called a braided-Lie bialgebra if it is an \(L\)-covariant Lie algebra and an \(L\)-covariant Lie coalgebra with Lie cobracket whose differential is id\(-t\) followed by the action of \(2r_+\) on \(B\otimes B\). The author considers this definition as the infinitesimal version of braided groups, where the coproduct fails to be multiplicative up to a braiding. He provides the analogues in his setting of the basic theorems about braided groups, including transmutation and bosonization procedures relating Lie bialgebras and braided-Lie bialgebras. Examples of braided-Lie bialgebras are given, some of which are not obtained by transmutation.
