The existence and uniqueness of solutions of the equation with delay \[ Ax(k+ 1)= Bx(k)+ Cx(k- k_0)+ f(k)\tag{1} \] with initial conditions \(x(i- k_0)= P_i\), \(i= 0,1,\dots, k_0\) is considered, where \(A,B,C\in\mathbb{R}^{n\times n}\), \(\text{det\,}A= 0\) and \(x,f,P_i\in \mathbb{R}^n\). Conditions are established under which the equation (1) has a unique solution, has no solutions or has infinite solutions.
