In this paper the Tricomi problem for system \[ \begin{cases} \frac{\partial^2u}{\partial x^2}- \frac{\partial u}{\partial y}+a(x,y)u=0, & y\geq 0\\ \frac{\partial^2u}{\partial x^2}+y\;\frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial y^2}+\alpha\;\frac{\partial u}{\partial y}=0, & y\leq 0,\end{cases}\tag{1} \] \(\alpha\in(-3,5;-3)\cup(-3;-2,5)\), in domain \(D = D_1\cup D_2\cup AB\) is studied. The parabolic domain \(D_1\) is the square with side \(AB\) and the hyperbolic domain \(D_2\) is the characteristic triangle \(ABC\), \(A=(0,0)\), \(B = (1,0)\). In domain \(D_2\) the integral representation of a generalized solution in meaning of K. I. Babenko is discovered. With the help of this representation and the ``glueing'' condition on the segment \(AB\) a Volterra integral equation concerning the function \[ \nu(x)=\lim_{y\to 0-}(-y)^\alpha\;\frac{\partial[u-A(\tau)]}{\partial y} , \] where \(A\) is known operator, \(\tau(x) = u(x,0)\), is obtained. It follows from unique solvability of the obtained integral equation that there is a unique solution of the Tricomi problem for system (1).
