Oscillatory behavior is studied for the first-order difference equation in the linear case \[ y_{n+1}+p_ny_n=b_n \] and in the nonlinear case \[ y_{n+1}+ p_nG(y_n)= b_n. \] The free \((b_n=0)\) and forced \((b_n\neq 0)\) cases are studied.
