Since 20 years stochastic resonance is one of the main topics of analyzing stochastic dynamics in nonequilibrium systems. It predicts the amplification of small correlated signals in threshold devices by an optimal amount of noise. Lateron, starting from 1995, stochastic resonance was interpreted as a synchronization process where the stochastic output of the threshold device stands in close phase relation to the correlated signals within an effective Arnold tongue (amplitude of signal to noise intensity in the threshold device). The study of Milstein and Tretyakov complements these investigations looking for regular oscillations in a bistable system driven by a dichotomic periodic signal. Conditions for regular oscillations of the bistable system synchronized to the periodic input were presented evaluating numerically first passage probabilities in the frequency (signal) vs noise (bistable system) parameter space for larger amplitudes of the input.
