A system of nonlinear second-order equations with small coefficients at the highest-oder derivatives is considered. Constraints of two types are imposed on the Jacobi matrix to ensure that there exists a unique solution to the problem. A difference scheme with coefficients replaced by piecewise constant functions is constructed. Its first-order uniform convergence is justified under the constraints imposed. In the case when the boundary layer is not distinct, the uniform convergence of the upwind scheme is justified.
