The self-consistent approach and traditional Voigt-Reuss estimation are generalized to model the effective electroelastic moduli of piezoelectric polycrystals with texture within the frame of linear theory of piezoelectric materials. The orientational averaging scheme is developed by the use of orientation distribution function of grains in polycrystals. The distribution function which is taken to be the Gaussian distribution function and the piezoelectric material constants are represented by a series of generalized associated Legendre functions. The numerical results are reported for piezoelectric polycrystals with texture and with perfect aligned grains, and for isotropic piezoelectric polycrystals. The results are discussed and compared with those obtained by using traditional Voigt and Reuss estimations. Some effects of thermal and dynamic nature are excluded.
