On the influence of noise on the coexistence of chaotic attractors (Q1573969)

This paper deals with the coexistence of chaotic attractors and is based on a mathematical model obtained by gluing together a Lorenz and a Rössler attractor. For the model under consideration the authors study the influence of noise. In this connection, they present numerical investigations concerning Chua's double scroll attractor. The authors observe that while the strength of the noise remarks small the morphology of the attractor is maintained. On the other hand, when the noise becomes more intense than the morphology changes and there emerges a point attractor.
