Transport properties of a rectangular array of highly conducting cylinders (Q1574156)

The functional equation method is applied to evaluate the effective conductivity tensor for a rectangular array of highly conducting cylinders. Some results of \textit{V. V. Mityushev} [Demonstr. Math. 30, 63-70 (1997; Zbl 0878.39006) and Arch. Mech. 49, 345-358 (1997; Zbl 0886.73038)] are used. The final formulas are written in terms of the modified Eisenstein functions. An algorithm to get approximate formulas with given accuracy is proposed, but the convergence question is not considered. Some formulas can be recommended to use in applied physics.
