Let \(G\) be a finite group. A \(G\)-space is called free if for every \(x\in X\) the equality \(gx=x\) holds only for \(g=e\), the unit element of \(G\). A free \(G\)-action is numerable if the orbit space \(X/G\) admits a locally finite cover \(\{U_\alpha\}\) which trivializes the orbit projection \(X\to X/G\), i.e., \(G\times U_\alpha\simeq_G p^{-1}(U_\alpha)\). The genus \(K(X, G)\) is not greater than \(m\) if there exist \(m\) closed free subsets \(C_1, \dots, C_m\subset X\) such that \(X=\bigcup_{i=1}^m GC_i\). Here a subset \(S\subset X\) is free if \(gS\cap hS=\emptyset\) whenever \(g, h\in G\), \(g\neq h\), and \(GC_i=\{gc \mid g\in G\), \(c\in C_i\}\). In the paper under review, it is proved that if \(G\) is a finite group and \(Y\) is a compact metric \(G\)-space then the condition \(Y\in LC^n\cap C^n\) is equivalent to the one of being a \(G\)-equivariant absolute extensor for all normal free \(G\)-spaces \(X\) endowed with a numerable action of \(G\) and having dimension \(\dim X\leq n\). The authors prove that the \(n\)-fold join \(G*\dots *G\) is a \(G\text{-AE}(X)\) iff \(X\) is normal, \(\dim X\leq n\) and \(K(X, G)\leq n+1\). Other results of this type are obtained.
