In the present paper the basic features of the charged \(p\)-brane black hole (BH) solutions with ``block-orthogonal'' intersection rules are analyzed and some of the better known BH spacetimes are presented as limiting cases of \(p\)-brane BHs. The post-Newtonian parameters (Eddington parameters), \(\beta\), \(\gamma\), corresponding to a 4 dimensional section of these metrics, are calculated and a family of solutions with \(\gamma = 1\) is singled out. Some examples of solutions (e.g. in \(D=11\) supergravity) are considered. In the conclusion the authors suggest problems to be solved (stability of \(p\)-brane BHs under small non-static perturbations, existence of the area theorem for \(p\)-brane BHs and the laws of \(p\)-brane BH thermodynamics).
