Nonlinear heat equation: The radial case (Q1576869)

The author studies blow up sets of the maximal radial classical solutions of \(u_t-\Delta u= g(u)\) on a ball in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). He uses comparison methods that were developed in a one-dimensional context by \textit{X. Y. Chen} and \textit{H. Matano} [J. Differ. Equations 78, No. 1, 160-190 (1989; Zbl 0692.35013)] and by \textit{V. A. Galaktinov} and \textit{S. A. Posashkov} [Proc. R. Soc. Edinb., Sect. A 118, No. 1/2, 13-20 (1991; Zbl 0741.35004)].
