Hyperbolic conservation laws and dynamic systems (Q1576890)

This paper is devoted to the survey of some recent works relating the ideas from dynamics systems to the theory of hyperbolic conservation laws. Among others, the authors deal with the admissibility criterion, the entropy condition for shocks and the construction of travelling waves for the viscous conservation laws \[ u_t+(f(u))_x=(B(u,\varepsilon)u_x)_x, \] where \(B(u,\varepsilon)\) is the viscosity matrix with viscosity parameters \(\varepsilon\).
