The authors consider three kinds of uniform convexity concepts in metric linear spaces, denoted by \(U.C.I\), \(U.C.II\) and \(U.C. III\), respectively, which are known to be not always equivalent, and give some properties of the corresponding uniform convex metric linear spaces. As a consequence, it is obtained the main result of the paper, stated in Theorem 4, which is a fixed point theorem of Browder-Goehde-Kirk type in metric linear space[\textit{F. E. Browder}, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 54, 1041-1044 (1965; Zbl 0128.35801); \textit{D. Goehde}, Math. Nachr. 30, 251-258 (1965; Zbl 0127.08005); \textit{W. A. Kirk}, Am. Math. Mon. 72, 1004-1006 (1965; Zbl 0141.32402)]: Let \((E,d)\) be a complete \(U.C.II\) metric linear space and \(K\) a bounded closed convex subset of \((E,d)\). If \(T:K\to K\) is a nonexpansive mapping, then T has a fixed point.
