This paper gives an alternate proof of the classification of non-uniform lattices with respect to quasi-isometric equivalence in higher rank semisimple groups. This result was first proved by \textit{A. Eskin} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 11, 321-361 (1998; Zbl 0885.22017)]. In the paper under review, the result follows from a rigidity theorem. The proof of the rigidity theorem makes use of the asymptotic cone and the logarithmic flats moving away in the cusp with logarithmic speed.
