Wavelet-Galerkin method for integro-differential equations (Q1578450)

The paper is devoted to the known wavelet-Galerkin method for integro-differential equations. In the place of conventional Fourier or Legendre bases, wavelet bases are tried in the application of spectral methods. The authors consider the application of wavelet bases to the solution of integro-differential equations. A new four-dimensional connection coefficient arises in the procedure. This new connection coefficient occurs in the solution of integro-differential equations by the wavelet-Galerkin method. An algorithm to compute it is developed. The utility of this special coefficient is demonstrated by applying the above stated method to certain simple integro-differential equations.
