The authors present a numerical study of mixed convection in a vertically mounted cup-like cylinder, rotating steadily about its axis and having its side wall temperature lower than that of the surrounding medium. The study is based on Boussinesq approximation, and is valid for large rotational Reynolds numbers and for cylinder aspect ratio of order \(O(1)\).
