Saddle-node bifurcations often occur in dissipative nonlinear dynamic systems related to periodic external excitation. The authors present a method for calculating the unstable response between the saddle-node bifurcation, and the singularity. This method is a computational algorithm based on the Poincaré mapping in combination with a pseudo-arc length continuation method. Moreover, a normalization equation is introduced to avoid the singularity in the process of iteration.
