The authors consider heat and mass transfer in an annular two-phase flow, and introduce a correlation for the droplet entrainment rate from a liquid film, constructed by using a simple model and experimental data. The previously developed correlation for the amount of entrainment has been used as a basis of the present study. Although the entrainment rate varies considerably, at a certain distance from the inlet it attains an equilibrium value where the authors derive an approximate correlation. These results are compared with experimental data both in terms of the entrainment rate and droplet fraction.
