    Let \(a=\{a_k\}_{k\in\mathbb{N}}\) be a sequence of points in the unit ball \(B^n\subset \mathbb{C}^n\). Recall that the constant of interpolation of \(a\) is the smallest number \(M^{B^n}_a\) such that for every bounded sequence \(b=\{b_k\} \subset \mathbb{N}\) there exists a bounded holomorphic function \(f_b\) in \(B^n\) with \(\|f_b\|_\infty\leq M_a^{B^n} \|b\|_\infty\). If \(n=1\) we denote \(M_a^{B^1}\) as \(M_a\). The author introduces the following invariant of the sequence \(a\): Definition: \(\mu(a)= \inf\{{1\over M_\alpha}: \alpha= \{ \alpha_j\} \subset B^1\), \(\exists \varphi\in\text{Hol}(B^1,B^n)\) such that \(\varphi (\alpha_j)= a_j\), \(\forall_j \in\mathbb{N}\}\). The author proves several natural properties of the invariant \(\mu\), such as monotonicity, continuity etc. He also proves the following: Theorem. Let \(a=\{a_j\}_{1\leq j\leq\mathbb{N}}\) be a finite sequence in \(B^n\). If there exists a sequence \(\alpha=\{\alpha_j\}_{1\leq j\leq \mathbb{N}} \subset B^1\) and \(\varphi_0\in\text{Hol}(B^1,B^n)\) with \(\varphi_0 (\alpha_j)= a_j\) and if \(\mu(a)= {1\over M_\alpha}\), then \(\varphi_0\) is the solution of the following extremal problem: \[ \inf\bigl\{ \|\psi\|_\infty: \psi\in\text{Hol}(B^1,\mathbb{C}^n),\quad \psi(\alpha_j)= a_j,\;j=1, \dots,\mathbb{N} \bigr\}. \]
