A long time ago Grünbaum asked: If every two elements of a family \({\mathcal F}\) of translates of a convex compact set in the plane have a common point, do there exist 3 points such that every element of \({\mathcal F}\) contains at least one of these points? Karasev answers this affirmatively. Further illuminating results make this an interesting and useful paper.
