The paper studies the effect of a forcing term \(h(|x|)\) in searching of multiple nodal solutions \(u\in H^1({\mathbb{R}}^N)\) to elliptic equations of the form \[ -\Delta u=f(|x|,u)+h(|x|),\qquad x\in {\mathbb{R}}^N, \] where \(f\) is superlinear and subcritical at infinity and such that \(f(|x|,0)\equiv 0.\)
