The author considers transient plane SH-wave incident on a finite crack in an infinite, homogeneous, anisotropic and linearly elastic solid. The problem is formulated as a time-domain traction boundary integral equation, and quadrature method by \textit{C. Lubich} [part I and part II, Numer. Math. 52, No. 2, 129-145 (1988; Zbl 0637.65016); ibid., No. 4, 413-425 (1988; Zbl 0643.65094)] is applied. Then, using Galerkin method, a system of linear algebraic equations is obtained which is solved by a time-stepping scheme. Numerical examples for isotropic solids are presented to test the method. The author also investigates the effect of material anisotropy on dynamic stress intensity factors.
