This paper establishes necessary optimality conditions for an abstract problem of optimal control. The problem is of the Mayer type and includes state constraints. By allowing free end-times, the authors extend a previous result of their own appeared in Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 350, No. 3, 1181-1204 (1998; Zbl 0892.49012)].
