For \(\delta>0\), define the convolution operators \(T^\delta\) by \[ \widehat {T^\delta f}(\xi',\xi_{n+1})=\psi(\xi_{n+1})\left(1- \frac {|\xi'|^2}{\xi_{n+1}^2}\right)^\delta_+\widehat f(\xi',\xi_{n+1}), \] where \(\psi\in C^\infty_0(1/2,2)\) and \(\widehat f\) denotes the Fourier transform of a Schwartz function on \({\mathbb R}^n\times {\mathbb R}\). The author shows that \(T^\delta\) is of weak type \((p,p)\) for the functions of the form \(f(x,t)=g(|x|,t)\) if \(p=2n/(n+1+2\delta)\) and \(0<\delta\leq (n-1)/2\). This result implies the weak type endpoint estimate for the Bochner-Riesz means on radial functions in \(L^p({\mathbb R}^n)\), where \(p=2n/(n+1+2\delta)\) and \(0<\delta\leq (n-1)/2\), which was proved by \textit{S. Chanillo} and \textit{B. Muckenhoupt} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 294, 693-703 (1986; Zbl 0587.42009)].
