Let \(W\) be an open set of a space \(X\), \(\tau\) be a family of \(L\)-modules on \(W\), \(\phi\) be a family of supports on \(W\) and \(t\) be an oriented triangulation of \(X\) such that \(t\) subtriangulates the closed set \(X - W\). Then the author has defined homology modules \(H_i^{\phi}(W, \tau, t, O)\) where \(O\) denotes the given orientation of the triangulation. When \(W = X\), these homology modules are nothing but the traditional sheaf homology modules. Two further cases are also of interest. When \(\phi =c\) the family of all compact subsets of \(X\), we recover the classical singular homology, and when \(\phi\) consists of all closed subsets of \(W\), we recover the Borel-Moore homology modules. Thus, the new homology modules capture all the interesting facts of several known homology modules. However, the most remarkable fact is a new proof of the Poincaré-Duality Theorem which also yields the result that these new homology modules are independent of the triangulation or orientation of the triangulation. The author has shown that these new homology modules are also useful for integration purposes.
