A general equilibrium model of monopolistic competition is studied. Two categories of commodities are considered: Consumption goods which are differentiated and the primary factor (labor) which is not. The subjective demand approach of Negishi (1961) is used. The existence of an equilibrium is proved under a suitable price normalization rule.
