This article deals with the problem of global existence for solutions to hyperbolic systems (i.e. hyperbolic \(D_X\)-modules on the complexification \(X\) of a real analytic manifold \(M\)). Considered solutions can be hyperfunctions as well as distributions. To prove these existence theorems the authors use a general result giving a sufficient condition to get global propagation from the knowledge of the micro-support of the complex of sheaves \(R \operatorname {Hom}_{D_X}(N,B_M)\) where \(D_X\) is the sheaf of linear differential operators on \(X\), \(N\) is the given hyperbolic \(D_X\)-module and \(B_M\) is the sheaf of Sato's hyperfunctions on \(M\). The authors also prove that causal manifolds give examples of manifolds where previous results can be applied.
