Starting from the well-known result for the expression for the generating function for spanning trees as a first-order co-factor of the tree matrix, expression (3) of the text, we can express it as a product of eigenvalues, expression (9). This result is specialised using various boundary conditions and applied in particular to the Möbius strip and the Klein bottle. 12 references.
