Universal covering group of \(U(n)\) and projective representations (Q1586381)

This paper has mainly didactical character as it presents known results (Fulton and Harris) in a version based on fiber bundle theory. The explicit expressions given for the liftings of projective representations of \(U(n)\) to a unitary representation of the semidirect product \(SU(n) \circledS {\mathfrak R}\), where \({\mathfrak R}\) is the universal covering group of the circle, based on Bargman's theorem is a simple exercise, otherwise a correct one. The examples given at the end of the paper are following the same trend of halfevidence.
