The pulsatile blood flow in axially moving arteries has been analysed by solving the basic equations of motion for blood and vascular walls. The analysis includes an axial blood velocity equation, a flow rate equation, and a wall shear stress equation, which describe not only the overall axial motion of the arteries but also the elastic properties of vascular walls. Thus, the authors are able to study the effets of arterial wall elasticity on wall shear stress in coronary arteries. The changes of dynamic properties of pulsatile blood flow between the rigid tube model and an elastic arterial tube model have been examined. The results confirm the inference by \textit{E. G. Broadbent} and \textit{D. W. Moore} [Proc. R. Soc. Lond., Ser. A 446, No. 1926, 39-56 (1994; Zbl 0822.76038)] that the axial motion of arteries is as important in determining the coronary artery hemodynamics as the elastic property of the vascular wall.
