Describing the motion of a fluid at large Reynolds numbers near the boundary of the flow domain, one can separate Prandtl boundary layers near solid walls and Marangoni layers near free boundaries. It may happen that the domain of motion has solid and free boundaries meeting at some angle. The problem of transition of a boundary layer through the point of contact was not studied previously. The author shows that this problem is reduced to solving the classical von Mises boundary layer equation with boundary conditions of variable type: conditions of the first kind on one part of the boundary and conditions of the second part on the other. Besides the change of the type of boundary conditions, the problem under consideration has other particularities: a stopping point of the exterior flow touching the boundary layer and a discontinuity point of the longitudinal pressure gradient. The author proves an existence theorem for a generalized solution to the problem of the ``Prandtl-to-Marangoni'' layer transition and studies properties of solutions.
