Let \(x^{[n]}\) denote the \(n\)th iteration of \(x\). The authors consider the iterative functional-differential equation \[ x'(t)= H(t, x^{[n_1]}(t),\dots, x^{[n_k]}(t))\tag{1} \] together with the initial value condition \[ x(\xi)= \xi.\tag{2} \] They give conditions on the function \(H\) which guarantee the existence and the uniqueness of \(C^2\)-solutions to problem (1), (2) in a neighbourhood of the point \(t=\xi\). The proofs are based on fixed-point theorems of Schauder and Banach. Continuous dependence of solutions on the function \(H\) and on \(\xi\) is considered, too.
