The author defines the notions of \((P^\ast)^\gamma\)-embedding and weak \(z_\gamma\)-embedding for an infinite cardinal \(\gamma\) and studies the relationship between them and other familiar extension properties. A subset \(A\) of a topological space \(X\) is weakly \(z_\gamma\)-embedded in \(X\) if for every uniformly discrete collection \(\{F_\alpha:\alpha<\gamma\}\) of zero-sets of \(A\), there exist locally finite collections \(\{H_{i,\alpha}:\alpha<\gamma\}\), \(i<\omega\), of cozero-sets in \(X\) such that \(F_\alpha\subset\bigcup\{H_{i,\alpha}:i<\omega\}\) for each \(\alpha<\gamma\). By author's theorem, a subset \(A\subset X\) is \((P^\ast)^\gamma\)-embedded in \(X\) if it is both \(C^\ast\)-embedded and weakly \(z_\gamma\)-embedded in \(X\). It is proved that a subset \(A\subset X\) is \(P^\gamma\)-embedded in \(X\) if and only if \(A\) is both \(C\)-embedded and weakly \(z_\gamma\)-embedded in \(X\), and also, a characterization of \((P^\ast)^\gamma\)-embedding in terms of an approximate extension of a continuous map into the metric hedgehog space with \(\gamma\) spininess is given. If we abbreviate `collectionwise normal' to `CN' and `countably paracompact' to `CP', then we have the following diagram, where \(A\to B\) means that every \(A\) space is a \(B\) space: \[ \begin{tikzcd} \gamma\text{-CN}+\text{CP} \ar[r]\ar[d] & \gamma\text{-CN} \ar[d]\\ \text{normal}+\text{CP} \ar[r] & \text{normal} \end{tikzcd} \] The relationship between \(P^\gamma\)-embedding, \(C\)-embedding and \(C^\ast\)-embedding has very similar features to the relationship between \(\gamma\text{-CN}+\text{CP}\), \(\text{normal}+\text{CP}\) and normal in the above diagram. This paper is motivated by the natural question: What is an extension property which corresponds to \(\gamma\)-CN?
