By a monomial polyhedron in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) the author means a finite intersection of elementary Reinhardt domains of the form \(\{z\in\mathbb{C}^n:|z^\alpha|<e^{C_\alpha}\}\), where \(z^\alpha=z_1^{\alpha_1}\cdots z_n^{\alpha_n}\). One expects for a monomial polyhedron that, in analogy with the case of the polydisc, the Bergman kernel function on the diagonal should have singularities at the boundary involving terms like \((1-|z^\alpha|^2e^{-2C_\alpha})^{-2}\). The author indeed determines a finite linear combination of products of such terms that is bounded above and below by positive constants times the Bergman kernel function on the diagonal. The proof depends on a careful estimation of the \(L^2\) norms of monomials on the polyhedron. This work is part of the author's 1997 Purdue University doctoral dissertation.
