Minimal orbits of the isotropy groups of symmetric spaces of compact type (Q1591525)

Let \(K\) be the isotropy group of a symmetric space \(N\) of compact type at a point \(p\) and let \(M\) be the unit sphere in the tangent space of \(N\) at \(p\). In this paper the authors determine all minimal orbits of \(K\) in \(M\). They also determine the minimal orbits of the isotropy group \(K\) of a point in a symmetric space \(M\) of compact type.
