The author obtains complementary inequalities to \textit{T.~Ando}'s matricial generalization of Oppenheim's inequality and Golden-Thompson type inequalities on the Hadamard product [Linear Algebra Appl. 26, 203-241 (1979; Zbl 0495.15018); Linear Algebra Appl. 241-243, 105-112 (1996; Zbl 0860.15019)]. As an application a complementary inequality to the Hadamard determinant inequality is obtained.
