Let \(R\) be a DVR, \(t\) a regular parameter in \(R\), \(K=Q(R)\), \(B=K[X]/(X^{n+1})\), \(n\geq 1\), \(A=R[x]\), where \(x=X\pmod {X^{n+1}}\) and consider \(A\) and \(B\) as graded rings with \(A_i=Rx^i\), \(B_i=Kx^i\), \(0\leq i\leq n\), \(A_i= B_i=(0)\) otherwise. Let \(C\) be an \(R\)-subalgebra of \(B\) that is a finite \(R\)-module. Suppose \(C=\sum^n_{i=0} (C\cap B_i)\). If \(C\supseteq A\), then there are unique integers \(p_0=0\), \(p_1,\dots,p_n\) such that \(C=\sum^n_{i=0} Rx^i/t^pi\). The aim of the paper is the study of the ring \(C\). We note only some of the obtained result. It is shown that \(C\) is always a Cohen-Macaulay local ring with multiplicity \(n+1\) and embedding dimension \(\nu(C)\leq n+1\). The structure of the canonical module of \(C\) is described. The complete intersection and the Gorenstein properties of \(C\) are characterized in terms of \(p_0,\dots,p_n\), respectively \(n\) and \(p_0,\dots,p_n\).
